Types of connections and communications
in ENGO CONTROLS

Our products adapt to the needs of any building. In conjunction with each other, they form a solid and modern heating control system. The ENGO Smart mobile app, which operates the system wirelessly, is based on Tuya technology. Temperature thermostats are divided into three main groups:

ZIGBEE 3.0

Devices operating on the third generation ZigBee protocol. Communication takes place through an Internet gateway, providing remote control via the ENGO Smart application if the gateway is connected to the Internet network.

Standard

Wired devices connected to a control box or to a heating device, without the possibility of control via ENGO Smart App.

To make it easier to match and correctly install the devices, we have created a map of sample products and connections and how they communicate. The diagram shows easily what works with what and how the installation should be conducted. This is especially important in the case of underfloor heating, controlled by a control box and thermoelectric actuators.

The standard device series uses wired or wireless 868 MHz communication. The devices in this line do not connect to the Internet, so we cannot operate them via the app.

The devices in this series connect to the ENGO Smart app using 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Remote control takes place via the Tuya cloud, so these devices do not need an internet gateway to function properly. A stable internet connection with good Wi-Fi range is required in a household to maintain correct operation.
Communication of the controllers with the heating strip/device is either wired or wireless at 868 MHz.

The ZigBee series devices communicate with the ENGO Smart application via the EGATEZB Internet gateway, which connects to the Internet via 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

Then why is a gateway needed?

In ZigBee series devices, the rules and dependencies between the operation of home equipment are stored in the EGATEZB gateway (rather than a cloud), which increases the stability of the system.

The main advantages of the ZigBee system are:

• reliability
• low power consumption
• instant access
• possibility to increase range by using repeaters

Communication of the thermostats with the control box/device is done either wired or wirelessly via ZigBee network.
